Sermon: Taste and See That the Lord is Good
This is a sermon about tasting - because the Bible talks about tasting. The way of life that God has called us to lead, teachings of His laws and of His commandments, are something that we taste, as we live them; as we prove them - as we experience every aspect of God's way of life - we taste it (Psalm 34:8).
There Is Always a Clause
In every agreement among men or with God, there are clauses that dictate conditions of the agreement.
Our covenant with God always includes the clause that we are to walk in His ways and keep His statutes and laws (1 Kings 3:14
). That phrase is stated in a number of places in the Bible. Wantonly breaking such a clause causes the agreement to be in jeopardy. It causes God to withdraw His blessings from us. We readily acknowledge the need to fulfill each clause in a contract when we do business and in all walks of life. People are not always careful to fulfill a contract, and that often brings about the end of the agreement. God is very merciful, but He is totally aware of any breach of our contract. We need to be more careful in obeying Him. That will develop the character within us to make us careful in fulfilling all our contracts. The result is a good name and success. Know the clauses and keep them uppermost in your mind.

Tragedy in Oklahoma
It is a time for grieving in Moore, Oklahoma. The morning after a terrible swift moving tornado touched down that city and the state are recovering from the shock of death and destruction visited upon them in a matter of minutes on Monday afternoon. Our prayers go out to the victims and their families and friends.
Inherent Beliefs
One of the most important things Ive learned in my three years of marriage is that everyone has grown up learning different ways to do daily tasks: washing the dishes, doing the laundry, folding clothes, etc. I had to learn that my husbands way of folding a t-shirt is just as effective as mine. In fact, his way actually saved some time. So I put my pride aside and quickly learned a more effective way to get laundry done. This is a simple example of how learning something new can actually be good, even though its not the way I was raised.
